Cockram appointed Fredon QLD to complete the Design and Construct contract for the new ALDI Distribution Centre in Brendale, Queensland. The project incorporated the design and construction of a 49,000m² warehouse and office, ambient warehouse and cool house facilities, along with associated civil and landscaping works. The distribution centre achieved a 4 Star Green Star rating. Sustainable initiatives included; water harvesting and recycling, energy efficiency and coordination within the refrigeration plant to eliminate synthetic refrigerants, and the minimisation of PVC and volatile organic compounds in its construction.

The project won a prestigious National Electrical and Communications Association (NECA) National award in the category Commercial – Medium Project. The award represents a high standard of performance by Fredon’s Queensland Branch at every stage though design and construction.
