CSIRO Data61 underwent a refurbishment of their existing building in Acton ACT to upgrade the services and accommodate more resources.

Fredon Electrical were engaged to carry out a refurbishment of the existing building, including demolition of existing services, supply and installation of new lighting including custom light fittings, upgrade of the lighting control system, general power to offices, work-station soft wiring and signage lighting. Fredon also replaced the communications infrastructure with a Molex Cat6A certified system.

Data 61 has distinct branding, which they wanted to incorporate within the office space, building details and light fittings which were customised specifically for Data 61. Working with existing services and specialised ceiling tiles meant installing and suspending light fittings had to be millimetre perfect, which we’re proud to say we achieved.

The works commenced in August 2018 and were completed in November 2018.

The National Electrical and Communication Association (NECA) awarded the project with NECA ACT State Award 2019 in the category Commercial Small Project.
