Fredon were appointed by Bovis Lend Lease to complete electrical works for the Gold Coast University Hospital (GCUH) project by the Queensland Department of Public Works and Health. The GCUH is a 750 bed hospital and includes five major components: Fredon provided a site wide ICT system consisting of the following:

  • Structured integrated cabling system for data and voice communications
  • Wireless LAN system
  • Nurse Call/ Staff Assist/Emergency Call system
  • MATV system
  • AV and Audio Visual cabling
  • Paging system
  • Background Music and Site Wide Public Address
  • Picture Archiving Communication system
  • Self-contained public address system
  • Mobile Phone Coverage
  • Hearing Loop system

The project won a National Electrical and Communications Association (NECA) State award for the prefabricated electrical riser installation, an Australian first.
