Virgin Lounge, Perth Airport

Services: Installation

Client: Virgin Australia

Cost: $1.6M

Location: Perth, WA

The new Virgin Lounge, located in Terminal 1 of Perth’s international airport, was part of an airport expansion to include domestic flight facilities.

The design features a distinctive ceiling with a unique layout and unusual curvatures that influenced the choice of lighting products Fredon supplied.

Fredon arranged for the 35km of LED extrusion to be pre-bent at the correct radii by the lighting supplier to meet specific design requirements.

Works also included:

  • Supply and installation of Temporary services
  • DMX, DALI and CBUS digital lighting control systems.
  • Supply and installation of light fittings and associated cabling, mountings, switching and controls, including dynamic lighting terminals and CBUS to AMX interface.
  • Monitored Exit and emergency lighting system
  • New switchboard and new Submains
  • Voice and data
  • Dry fire

The project had strict deadlines and required the team to deliver the works in a live environment, with the priority to avoid any service disruptions.
