Fredon were pleased to receive a commendation from the National Electrical and Communications Association (NECA) at the 2018 National Excellence Awards for Commercial Medium Project for The Wesley Hospital.
Fredon were engaged as the principal contractor to manage and issue all subcontract trades for The Wesley Hospital Redevelopment. Works performed by Fredon included:
- Electrical infrastructure upgrade to four existing building MSBs and replacement of the Hospital’s original MSB
- Installation of a 1 Mva 26-ton generator to feed the Hospital and the grid with a 5000L fuel tank
- Rerouting of main water and gas pipes with a new room cooled by a 47kW Computer Room Air Conditioning for a new 480kW UPS feeding 10 upgraded operating theatres
- Five floors of the Hospital’s original main distribution boards, with an additional UPS section and plenty of spare capacity for growth of future wings
The Hospital remained fully functional throughout the duration of works.
This commendation at a National level follows the Commercial Medium Project award received for the Wesley Hospital at the NECA QLD state awards in September.
