By September 4, 2024No Comments

The VIC Chapter of the National Electrical and Communication Association (NECA) held their annual Awards for 2024 on Friday 30Th August 2024. These awards highlight the achievements of individuals and companies in the Electrical and Communication industry.

We are delighted to share that the Fredon VIC team were recognised in several categories including state winners for the Innovation Award and Lighting Design & Construct.

VIC State Winner Innovation Award: Test Boards and Training

Fredon’s innovative approach to WHS training and technical skill development has been recognised with NECA VIC awarding them the Innovation Award. The initiatives for the in-house training programs and the development of electrical fault boards were driven by a recognition that workers may not always have the same exposure to testing and commissioning tasks. The test board training was designed to bridge the gap in knowledge and skills, providing a standardised and thorough method for employees to learn and practice essential testing procedures as well as improving safety outcomes, worker satisfaction, and company performance. Well done!

VIC State Winner Lighting Design & Construct: Knox Shopping Centre Redevelopment

VIC State Industrial Small Project Commendation: Reimagining Arts Centre Melbourne (RACM)

Fredon received a Commendation for the Small Industrial Award at the NECA VIC 2024 Awards for their work on the Reimagining Arts Centre Melbourne (RACM) project.

For the first time since opening in 1984, Arts Centre Melbourne is undergoing significant upgrades and its heritage elements refurbished as part of the Melbourne Arts Precinct Transformation. In the Early Works stage of the project, Fredon undertook the design and construction of a new 11kV HV client-side switch room and integrated new feeders into the existing infrastructure without any day-to-day business disruptions. The Fredon team worked within a live brownfield environment to install the new HV cables and switchgear.

Once the Melbourne Arts Precinct Transformation is complete, it will be one of the greatest creative and cultural destinations in the world. Congratulations to the team for this well-deserved recognition.
