Glenrowan Solar Farm

Services: Installation

Client: UGL

Location: Glenrowan, VIC

The Glenrowan Solar Farm is a solar project with a capacity of 130MWac. It is located in Victoria’s Central North Renewable Energy Zone (REZ), one of six zones in the state that support the Victorian Government’s Renewable Energy Target (VRET) of 50% by 2030 and the transition to a carbon-neutral future.

The solar farm supplies renewable electricity to the national electricity market, generating power for approximately 45,000 homes in Australia.

UGL engaged Fredon to complete all 33kv terminations and testing for the project. The cables used in the project ranged up to 630mm2. Fredon’s scope of work included terminating 76 x 33kv cables, utilising straight and elbow knits, overhead and underground terminations for 33kv Harmonic Filter, and testing and commissioning of all terminated cables using IR & VLF Ductor.

Fredon completed the project in September 2023.
