Knox City Shopping Centre Redevelopment was a $355 million redevelopment, introducing a gourmet marketplace including ALDI and Woolworths, a new international precinct including Uniqlo and JD Sports, and a diverse range of fashion stores. New features include a full-size basketball court, a swim school, and other community uses including a library. Westfield Knox spans 144,810 square metres and features seven major retail partners and a total of 383 business partners.

Fredon were engaged by the contractor for the comprehensive electrical design and construct of the redevelopment, encompassing power, lighting, and communications installations throughout the refurbishment of existing areas and the new construction extension of the development. Fredon meticulously designed and installed modern architectural feature lighting, comprising a wide array of luminaries carefully selected to complement the newly updated surroundings.

Fredon were also contracted to perform the Mechanical scope of works, which included demolition, design, supply, installation, commissioning, testing, warranty, and maintenance. Works included the installation of new kitchen supply and exhaust air systems for the tenancies, as well as new supply air systems. Additionally, Fredon will be implemented a new smoke exhaust systems. The works also consisted of the replacement roof mounted package units complete with new & existing ductwork below the roof.

The Fredon team navigated the complexities of working in close proximity to existing operational mall spaces, ensuring minimal disruption to the general public while maintaining strict safety protocols.
