The Queanbeyan Civic and Cultural project is an essential component of the council’s CBD Transformation Strategy which is seeking to rejuvenate the CBD and attract people and workers to the heart of Queanbeyan. The main objective is to bring together Council staff who were previously housed across 11 buildings throughout the CBD.

The new Precinct has public and community space and commercial space which is leased to the NSW Government and other tenants. It also houses the Council administration including shop front and public library, along with meeting rooms and a rooftop garden.

Fredon were engaged to complete the Audio-Visual installation for the Precinct comprised of commercial-grade unified communications equipment, control systems, professional audio interfaces and DSP, plus professional displays & digital signage for the meeting rooms, collaboration spaces, break areas, multipurpose spaces, and the council assembly area.

The Precinct was completed in December 2023.

The team were recognised for their efforts with a Highly Commended certificate at the NECA ACT 2024 awards.
